All of us, one way or another, have heard about Tibetan medicine. But our knowledge is scattered, although even the information that we possess gives us an occasion to carefully consider the capabilities of doctors from distant Tibet who, through their centuries of accumulated knowledge and skills, can treat a number of serious diseases. But would we ourselves have given ourselves into the hands of such a "doctor"? The question is controversial. Some roots, potions, the need to adhere to a strange diet, etc. scares us away, making visits to ordinary, familiar doctors from the clinic more reliable. And maybe in vain? Indeed, it is not for nothing that the knowledge in the field of traditional Tibetan medicine was initially kept under the cover of secrecy in Tibetan monasteries. Interest in oriental medicine is gradually increasing throughout the world. The reason for this is real positive results in the treatment of a number of diseases.

The basic principles of traditional Tibetan medicine:

Belief that there are all traits of the causes of diseases: nutrition, behavior, provocation (in our opinion, corruption) and karma.

Belief in the existence of three constitutional types of man, the formation of which is affected by the nutrition and behavior of the mother during pregnancy:

  • Wind (thin, mobile, talkative people with rather unstable digestion)
  • Bile (strong, precise, quick-tempered people with good digestion)
  • Mucus (prone to fullness, sensible, calm people, prone to good sleep and having an excellent appetite).

In each person, two types are simultaneously present, the third is in its infancy.

The meaning of life in food: when digesting food, the separation of the "pure" component from the "unclean" occurs. In the future, the “pure” part, having gone through numerous stages of additional cleansing in various organs, forms blood, muscles, bones, cartilage, bone, brain and spinal cord and, finally, an intangible substance, the basis of vitality, beauty and longevity. The "unclean" part, having overcome various metamorphoses in the body, is ultimately involved in the formation of sperm.

The principles of nutrition in Tibetan medicine:

  • Do not eat raw vegetables and fruits. It is advisable to eat the food with which you are familiar from childhood. If you still have a desire to eat a carrot or an apple, then it is best to do this during the day, when digestion is especially active.
  • In winter, it is important to give preference to warm, warming drinks, flavored with spices - ginger or cardamom.
  • The consumption of a large amount of sweets weakens the immune system, you will often get sick.
  • There are incompatible products - eggs and fish, as well as eggs with any dairy products, sugar and lentils.
  • On an empty stomach, you need to drink a glass of freshly boiled water.
  • In the morning it is better to eat warm food (for example, porridge), for lunch - meat, for dinner - some stewed vegetables. And, of course, do not go to bed on a full stomach. Well, even if this happened, it is best to sleep on the right side - this helps to better absorb food.
  • First you need to eat food that is digested faster, then more heavy food. That is why it is ideal to consume fruits half an hour before a hearty meal, otherwise the processes of decay can begin in the stomach, gases and toxins will be produced.
  • In Tibetan medicine, starvation, vegetarianism and dietary supplements are not welcome. All vitamins and amino acids necessary for the body are best obtained in their natural form.

The success of Tibetan medicine managed to prove itself in many countries of the world. Even in our country, clinics and centers of Tibetan medicine are opening, where diseases such as diabetes mellitus, various diseases of the spine and stomach are successfully treated.
